The ancient settlement Maskavichy (another name: Maskaucy) - is a monument of archaeological of the 11th century and an interesting landmark of Belarus. This site is located near the same name village of Maskavichy, in the Braslaw district, Vitebsk region of Belarus. In the 20th century, archaeological excavations were carried out on the territory of this ancient settlement, then cultural and everyday objects of a thousand years old were found here. However, at the moment, the main remarkable feature of the Maskavichy settlement is that it is located in the thick of the Braslaw Lakes, right on the shore of one of them.
At the same time, this mound is one of the highest points of the entire surrounding area. As a result, beautiful views of the numerous lakes of the Braslaw region are opened from here. From the territory of the ancient settlement Maskavichy, at least five lakes connected by canals can be seen, as well as the tower of the Catholic church of the Divine Providence, located in the neighboring village of Slabodka.
