Vysokaje - is a small town of Kamenets district, Brest region of Belarus. The city Vysokaje preserved a lot of very valuable architectural and historical sights. However, once we note with regret that they are all in far better condition. The city Vysokaje can not be separated any one of the attractions as the core. We begin the description of the city's Vysokaje attractions with palace and park ensemble of the 19th century, is located here. The central building of the complex, namely a small palace was built in 1816. Near the palace are also located two wings built at the same time. The structure of the palace and park ensemble in the city Vysokaje also included several outbuildings and a park with rare plants and numerous ponds. At the moment, the central palace and side wings yet represent a sufficiently strong construction. However, to become a really interesting tourist attraction in the capital they need restoration. Outbuildings at the moment are mainly in poor condition and continue to deteriorate. From the park only fragments remain. Nevertheless, even in this state, the palace and park ensemble in the city Vysokaje is an important architectural monument, cultural and historical value and attraction of Belarus.
Another important attraction of the city Vysokaje is historic Trinity Catholic church. The first stone church on the spot where now stands the temple was built back in 1603. Then a church in the city Vysokaje was twice substantially renovated and completed, in 1735 and 1772, respectively. How many different fragments of the temple came to us from the very beginning of the 17th century is unknown. The main features of the church is preserved from the time of its restructuring in 1772. However, lost and not yet restored decorative elements adorn the tower and the main temple pediment. The church in the city Vysokaje is in a strong, but not perfect condition, and of course is not only an important tourist attraction, but also an architectural monument of Belarus.
Christian architectural heritage of the city Vysokaje is not limited to one Trinity Catholic church. There is also a Holy Cross Orthodox church built in 1869. This church - one of the few attractions of the city Vysokaje, which is in excellent condition. Also in the city Vysokaje a small Catholic chapel of St. Barbara, built in 1772. And finally, here also preserved former monastery building. The central part of this building once served as a church. Build this monastery building with a church in the center was in the second half of the 18th century. Now the monastery building a few rebuilt and used for household needs.
But the attractions of the city Vysokaje could lay claim to being one of the key attractions of the region, if not the fact, that remains only a few fragments lying in ruins. These are the ruins of the Sapieha castle. This castle was built in the second half of the 17th century, and originally represented the well-fortified citadel. At the moment, with all the greatness of this castle are preserved only embankments, canals and ruins center of the gate. It should also be noted that in recent times has been started the restoration of the center of the gate, which is very slow and not yet completed. Nevertheless, even in such a state Sapieha castle ruins are a very interesting historical object and represent certain interest for tourists and travelers in Belarus.
In addition to these, the city Vysokaje has several historic buildings were built from the late 18th to early 20th centuries. All these buildings can be attributed to the historical building of the city. Among the attractions of the city Vysokaje such small are: former watermill, Townhouse Central (historically - Market) square, synagogue ruins, other retail, office, commercial and residential buildings. All these buildings, unfortunately, like most central city Vysokaje attractions, are in a state far from the ideal (a synagogue and completely in ruins). Thus, these small architectural monuments succinctly complement the overall kind of tourist atmosphere of the city. Summarizing, we can say that, on the one hand, the city Vysokaje there are many important historical attractions, and it attracts some tourists and travelers. On the other hand, the majority of the city's Vysokaje attractions is in poor condition and that leads to the tourists and travelers a certain discouragement and sadness and lubricates impressions of what he saw.
