Kobryn - is a big town of Brest region of Belarus, an administrative center of Kobryn district. In the town of Kobryn do not have any outstanding landmarks and attractions. Another attraction of the city Kobryn is the church of St. Nicholas. This church was originally built in 1750 of wood. Initially, the temple was located in the village Navaselki, near the town of Kobryn. In 1841, the temple was moved to a new location, where it remains to this day. Finally, thirdly, the former prison building, originally built in 1821. The building is certainly a very dark place, because in this prison were held a lot of shootings, the Germans during World War II, and the NKVD at different times. By the way, in this prison have spent some time Napoleon Orda - famous Belarusian artist, as he was suspected of involvement in the uprising of 1863-1864. During his stay here, he even managed to write a few sketches, which depicted the life of a prison (see below). Now the building of the former prison, again, is used for industrial purposes.
In addition to these, in the town of Kobryn there are many objects that can attract tourists. Firstly, it is one of the most beautiful urban parks in Belarus, including not only a beautiful vegetation and water, but also a lot of small architectural forms and sculptures. By the way, this park is named for Suvorov. Besides the already mentioned museum, street and park named in his honor in the city of Kobryn has also three monuments to Suvorov, one in front of the museum, the other in the park, and the third in the city streets. Further, in the town of Kobryn very beautifully landscaped promenade Mukhavets river that runs through the city. For this promenade is very pleasant to walk. And in the town of Kobryn you can find a lot of monuments devoted to various historical events and personalities, as well as legends and fairy-tale characters. The most famous among these monuments are: the monument to the founders of the city, located in a pedestrian street; and a monument in honor of the victory in the War of 1812, located next to the cathedral.
