Davyd-Haradok

Davyd-Haradok - is a small town of Stolin district, Brest region of Belarus. The main architectural landmark of Davyd-Haradok is a wooden Orthodox church of St. George, built in the second half of the 17th century and a few rebuilt in 1724. In the external and internal decoration of the temple there are no complicated architectural elements, all done simply and discreetly, it is quite common for these old wooden religious buildings. Today, the church in Davyd-Haradok is in excellent condition and is a very interesting architectural monument of Belarusian wooden architecture, cultural and historical value and attraction of Belarus. On the example of the temple you can try to imagine looked like typical wooden church in the distant 17th century. Near the church of St. George in Davyd-Haradok, there is also a small bell tower, built in the 19th century.

Another attraction of Davyd-Haradok is Orthodox church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. This temple was built in Davyd-Haradok relatively recently, in 1913. Near the church there is also a small chapel and beautiful gate, built in the same year. This beautiful temple at the moment and is in excellent condition and is an architectural monument, cultural and historical value of Belarus.

The original card, symbol and the most recognizable object of the Davyd-Haradok is a monument to Prince Davyd - founder of the Davyd-Haradok, after whom the town got its name. Other attractions Davyd-Haradok can also be considered: first, the building of the former Catholic church, originally built in 1936 and remodeled at the moment under the club; and secondly, several other buildings belonging mostly to the beginning of the 20th century, led to the building of the former headquarters of the Polish border battalion, which can be attributed to the city's historical building.

Davyd-Haradok - is one of the oldest settlements on the territory of modern Belarus. Here there is an ancient settlement, or otherwise, relating to the castle site of 12th century. Now this archaeological site consists of a small hill just a characteristic shape. But under a thin layer of soil there really are hidden remains of the ancient wooden buildings and fences, adobe stoves and cobbled streets of the wood.
