Bukhavichy - is a village of Kobryn district, Brest region of Belarus. The main attraction of the village Bukhavichy is ancient Orthodox church of the Intercession, originally built back in 1674 in bricks by Dominican Friars, like the Catholic church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The temple was closed in 1830, and in 1832 the temple was handed over to the Orthodox believers. After that, the temple in the village Bukhavichy reconstructed and repaired several times (in 1862, 1870, 1877, 1881 and 1889). During the last of these renovations, a rectangular temple bell tower was added, and in the central part of the temple was built a small tower with a dome.
Today, the church in the village Bukhavichy is in good condition, and despite all the improvements, the basic features (except for the presence of the bell tower) has retained its original appearance. By the way, this temple is located a little away from the village, next to the local cemetery. Belarus is not too often you can find temple of the 17th century in such a good condition, so each of them including a church in the village Bukhavichy is a very interesting architectural monument of cultural and historical value and attraction of Belarus. In addition to the church in the village Bukhavichy survived as a remarkable building of the former steam mill was built in the first half of the 20th century.
