Hrushauka - is a village of Lyakhavichy district, Brest region of Belarus. The main attraction of the village are the fragments of Hrushauka estate complex. The central building of the complex - is a wooden manor house, which was built here in the late of 19th century, and now is in an emergency condition. In the postwar period, the manor house in the village of Hrushauka was used as a club, and in the 1990s it was used as a warehouse. The whole estate complex belongs to a local agricultural enterprise. The windows and doors of the manor house are safely boarded up. Tourists are not allowed to enter.

One of the side buildings in the manor of village Hrushauka was built even earlier, according to some sources in the 17th century. Thus, this manor complex is very old. By the manor complex in the village Hrushauka also relates very remarkable tomb-chapel, built in the early 20th century, and is located approximately in the one kilometer from the manor house, on the opposite side of the road, on the border of the forest and fields. Near the chapel is also partially preserved the original fence with a brama. According to many subjective estimates of tourists and travelers, the chapel-tomb in the village of Hrushauka is one of the most memorable architectural monuments of Belarus.

Also in the manor complex in the village Hrushauka previously included several outbuildings belonging to the late 19th - early 20th centuries, and a park with a pond. At this point, most of the buildings were part of the estate complex in the village Hrushauka are in poor condition. Manor house is conserved, some farm buildings are used today by economic needs of local businesses and the other outbuildings and the old side of the housing collapse. The park is also in neglected form. The state of the chapel is satisfactorily strong, the ceilings have not yet collapsed, although the roof has long been gone. Unfortunately, it does not look like someone was trying to restore or preserve the building of the chapel-burial vault in the village of Hrushauka.

But the main notable feature of the manor in the village Hrushauka is that here was born, lived and died Tadeusz Rejtan, after which, by the way, a memorial stone in the territory near the chapel. Tadeusz Rejtan - is a Belarusian nobleman, Deputy General Sejm from Navahrudak voivodeship of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. In 1773 he took part in the so-called "Separation" Sejm in Warsaw. Together with some other nobles Tadeusz Rejtan in every way tried to derail a diet to prevent the approval of the first partition of Poland. When all means have been exhausted, Tadeusz Rejtan, seeking from the Diet of protest against the partitions that are not released from the courtroom deputies. For this, he lay before going out with the words: "Kill me, do not kill the Fatherland!". This protest was captured in a painting by Jan Matejko "Rejtan. The decline of Poland". In Belarus and Poland Tadeusz Rejtan is considered a national hero, an example of patriotism and self-sacrifice.

Tadeusz Rejtan

In 1930, Tadeusz Rejtan's ashes were moved to the chapel-tomb in the village of Hrushauka (and placed in the crypt to the right of the entrance). In addition, we note that most of the buildings that today belong to the manor in the village of Hrushauka did not yet exist in the time of Tadeusz Rejtan. And he himself lived in the old stone side building of the manor, which is in a very bad condition today. Manor house in those times, i.e. in the second half of the 18th century, was also stone. It still managed to capture Napoleon Orda on one of his sketches, made in the second half of the 19th century. Later, the owner of the manor did not recommend to continue living in a stone house, because of his illness. Therefore, at the end of the 19th century, on the foundation of an old manor house, a new wooden house was built, which has survived to our time.

Thus, the complex of buildings of the old manor house in the village Hrushauka owned by Tadeusz Rejtan certainly is an architectural monument, a great cultural and historical value and an important tourist attraction in Belarus, despite the fact that so far this architectural complex is in poor condition. Though for a certain circle of tourists to Belarus, the ruins are even more interesting than the restored building...
