Vistychy - is a village of Brest district, Brest region of Belarus. The main attraction of the village Vistychy is Holy Cross Orthodox church, built in the mid 18th century. This ancient temple was originally built as a Catholic church, and was part of the Catholic monastery, located here. In the first half of the 19th century (namely, in 1832 after the defeat of the corresponding uprising), the monastery was abolished, and in the second half of the 19th century (in 1866, shortly after the defeat of the next uprising), the temple in Vistychy village was transferred to the Orthodox Church and has been completely restored.
The church functioned until the Second World War. During the Soviet era, the temple in the village of Vistychy was abandoned and was empty. Only in 2011 a severely dilapidated church began (for the first time since the second half of the 19th century) to be restored. At the moment, this temple has not yet been fully restored, but is already in good condition and is an active Orthodox church. Also in the village of Vistychy there is a small but notable roadside chapel. In the old photos you can see the sculpture of the Virgin Mary, which used to adorn the top of this chapel. The temple in Vistychy village is an architectural monument of the 18th century, a historical and cultural value and an interesting landmark of Belarus.
