Narach - is a large village of Myadzyel district, Minsk region of Belarus. Until 1964 this village was called Kabylnik. It is also important that the village of Narach and the nearby resort settlement of Narach are not the same. The resort settlement Narach is located directly on the shore of the lake of the same name, it was founded in the Soviet time and consists mainly of sanatoriums and rest houses. But the village of Narach is located five kilometers north of lake Narach and is an ancient settlement that was first mentioned in 1453. In this material, it will be specifically about the village of Narach, and not about the resort settlement, and not about the famous lake.

So, the main attraction of the village of Narach is the Catholic church of St. Andrew the Apostle. This monumental church, built in the gothic style in 1897-1901, is one of the brightest sights of the entire Narach region. The church in the village of Narach is built of red brick on the site, where from the 18th century there was an ancient wooden church. The appearance of this temple is characterized by a certain simplicity and restraint of architectural decisions. Nevertheless, the main facade of the church in the village of Narach is made in a very unusual style, its most notable element are four peaked pinnacles (there are literally several similar churches in Belarus). Thus, for all its simplicity, the appearance of the temple is very memorable.

A few words about the history of the church in the village of Narach. So, built in the early 20th century, it naturally continued to function safely in the interwar period, since the village of Narach was then part of Poland. Then in the 50s of the 20th century the church was left without a priest. Attempts were also made to completely close it. However, in the building of the church in the village of Narach did not manage to organize a warehouse or something like that. The parishioners were able to defend the building of the church, where they subsequently gathered for prayers on their own for a long time. At the end of the 20th century, the church in the village of Narach restored its full-fledged functioning as a temple. To date, this church is in excellent condition, and is obviously an important architectural monument of the early 20th century.

Near the church in the village of Narach there is a wooden bell tower of the 18th century (preserved since the time of the previous wooden church). This bell tower was restored many times and renovated. Nevertheless, it is still an important monument of wooden architecture of the 18th century. In addition, a beautifully landscaped area near the church is surrounded by a fence made of natural stone. In this area, you can find several remarkable sculptural compositions and beautiful but small flower gardens.

In different sources, you can find different dates for the erection of this small temple, from 1850 to 1881. The church in the village of Narach is built of natural stone, which gives its appearance a certain severity. The area around the church is surrounded by an ancient stone fence, perfectly combined with the temple itself.

Let us mention the most important events in the history of the church in the village of Narach. So, at the end of the First World War, there was a fire in this temple. The church building and its full-time work were restored only by 1925. Then, in 1962, the church in the village of Narach was closed by the Soviet authorities. After that, a warehouse was organized in the church building. However, already in 1988 the church was returned to the faithful and soon perfectly restored. Today the church in the village of Narach is in good condition and is an architectural monument of the second half of the 19th century and an interesting landmark of Belarus.

It should also be noted that in the village of Narach quite well developed basic and tourist infrastructure, and the village as a whole looks very soundly. Tourists here are often enough and in large numbers. Of course, this is due primarily to the fact that very close to, on lake Narach, there are always a lot of vacationers who regularly drop in to the neighboring village of Narach. In this village, in addition to architectural attractions, tourists can find a lot of shops of different profiles (these shops form a whole block in the village of Narach) and other infrastructural objects they need.
