Kryvičy - is a large village of Myadzyel district, Minsk region of Belarus. The main attractions of the village of Kryvičy are Catholic and Orthodox churches. Older among these churches is the Catholic church of St. Andrew the Apostle. Originally, this temple was part of the Catholic monastery. The monastery was founded in the village of Kryvičy in 1770 and originally included a wooden church and wooden residential buildings. However, already in 1796, in exchange for these wooden buildings, new stone churches and a residential building were erected. It is these buildings that have survived to this day.
After the uprising of 1830 the monastery in the village of Kryvičy was closed by the tsarist authorities. After that the church became an ordinary parish church, and in the former monastic buildings local priests began to live, and also the parish administration was located. In the second half of the 19th century the entire architectural complex was surrounded by a natural stone fence. The central entrance to the church in the village of Kryvičy was decorated with brick brama (gate). In this form, this architectural complex has survived to our time. The church, the monastery building, the brama and the fence in the village of Kryvičy are maintained in good condition. If necessary, they are immediately repaired and restored. Undoubtedly, the church in the village of Kryvičy is an important architectural monument of the late 18th century and an interesting landmark of Belarus.
As already mentioned, the next attraction of the village of Kryvičy is the Orthodox church of the Holy Trinity. This temple was built in 1887. This new brick church in the village of Kryvičy was erected in place of an old wooden church built in 1642, in the same place. In the Soviet era (namely, from 1963 to 1989), the church in the village of Kryvičy was closed, and a warehouse was located in its walls. During this time, the building of the temple has decayed, and, evidently, the interior of the church has suffered the most. Nevertheless, after the return of the church in the village of Kryvičy to the believers, it was quickly and qualitatively restored and today this church is in good condition. The area around the church is also fenced with a natural stone fence with a beautiful brama decorating the central entrance. The church in the village of Kryvičy is an interesting landmark of Belarus and an architectural monument of the 19th century.
In addition to these attractions in the village of Kryvičy there are also a few small historical buildings that were erected in the first half of the 20th century and can be attributed to the development of the village. Also, earlier in the village of Kryvičy there was a manor. There is a wooden manor house and several outbuildings. However, the manor house during the Soviet era was rebuilt into an ordinary house, and outbuildings are in an extremely unattractive condition. Speaking about the tourist attraction of the village of Kryvičy, we can not fail to mention that there are not only several shops, a pharmacy, a post office and a bank, but also a small cafe.
