Sarja - is a village of Verkhnyadzvinsk district, Vitebsk region of Belarus. The main attraction of the village Sarja is the Orthodox church of the Assumption, built here in 1857. The building of this temple was built as a Catholic church, but immediately after construction was transferred to the Orthodox faithful. It is important that after the church in the village Sarja is not substantially renovated. In Soviet times, the church building was used as a warehouse, and in early 1990 it was returned to the faithful and completely renovated in accordance with the historical appearance. At the moment, the temple in the village Sarja is probably the most unusual Orthodox church of Belarus, other Orthodox churches carried out in a similar architectural style is hard to find and in foreign countries. Therefore, the church in the village Sarja is a kind completely unique that it attracts attention of tourists and travelers. In addition, icons are stored in the church of Saints Peter and Fevronia with particles of relics. This factor attracts pilgrims to the village Sarja. Not far from the church established two monuments, the first - is the burial place of local landowners, who built a temple, and the second - a monument to Saints Peter and Fevronia.
