Klyushchany - is a small village of Astravyets district, Grodno region of Belarus. The main attraction of the village of Klyushchany was once the wooden Catholic church of St. Joachim, originally built according to various sources either in 1726 or in 1887. However, unfortunately, early in the morning on June 6, 2017, the church in the village of Klyushchany burned to the ground due to a malfunction of the wiring.
This temple was known for being one of the first churches where a sermon was read in the beginning of the 20th century in the Belarusian language (at that time it was a unique phenomenon, because before that the Belarusian language was not officially used either in the Catholic or in the Orthodox churches). The church in the village of Klyushchany functioned until 1948 and safely survived both world wars. In Soviet times it was closed. In the early 1990s, in a dilapidated state was returned to the believers.
Since that time, the efforts of local very small parishioners have been the gradual restoration of the temple. By the time the fire broke out, the outer and inner appearance of the church was perfectly restored, but the wiring was still in an emergency condition, which was the cause of the fire. The fire destroyed the temple completely. There are no chances for recovery. In Belarus there are not so many old wooden churches in good condition, the more sad is the loss of one of them.
Also in the village of Klyushchany there is a chapel-tomb. It is not very convenient for tourists and travelers to get to the village of Klyushchany, they will have to travel a dozen kilometers along gravel. But it's worth it, because Klyushchany is a very quiet, serene village, when you come there, the soul immediately becomes peaceful and calm. The village of Klyushchany is located in the border zone.
