Astravyets - is a small town of Grodno region of Belarus, the administrative center of Astravyets district. Until 2012, the Astravyets considered townships. The city Astravyets stands on the river Losha. The main attractions of the city Astravyets are two churches. The first of these is the church of Saints Cosmas and Damian, built in 1787 (pictured above). The second - a Holy Cross Church, built in 1911 (pictured below).
Also in Astravyets have a modern church of Saints Peter and Paul, built in 1999.
Gained fame Astravyets in Belarus and abroad in connection with the recently started construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, which is conducted in the vicinity of Astravyets. Due to this construction the city Astravyets received new neighborhoods, schools, kindergartens, and more. This infrastructure is designed for employees of the future Belarusian nuclear power plant, which will live in Astravyets.
