The church in the village Trakeli very small and modest, but looking at it we can imagine looked like hundreds of burned and destroyed by war wooden churches of 16-18 centuries. But tourists, travelers and numerous pilgrims attracts not a church, but a icon, which is kept in the church: the icon of the Trakeli Mother of God - one of the most revered icons of Belarus. Every year thousands of people come to Trakeli to pray before this miraculous icon. The icon of the Trakeli Mother of God was brought to the parish at the end of the XVI century from Vilnius. It is written on the canvas, its size 180x100 centimeters. The author is unknown.

In 1656, during the Polish-Swedish War, the then wooden church in Trakeli was completely burned, but the ashes of believers found untouched icon. In 1738, the rebuilt temple was burned again, but the icon again survived. In the same miraculous way, the icon of the Trakeli Mother of God survived and in the times of numerous subsequent wars, persecutions and repressions.
