Usielub - is a village of Navahrudak district, Grodno region of Belarus. The main attraction of the village Usielub is Catholic church of St. Casimir, which was built before 1433. Thus, the church in the village Usielub six centuries. This church, apparently, is the oldest Catholic church in the territory of modern Belarus. Therefore, the church in the village Usielub is very valuable architectural monument of the early 15th century, a significant historical and cultural value and an important tourist attraction in Belarus.
Let's note some remarkable facts from the history of the church in the village of Usielub. So, for example, from 1576 to 1642, this temple was Calvinistic, and then again was returned to the Catholics. At the same time each time the owners changed the temple a little rebuilt. The modern view of the church in the village of Usielub was acquired only at the end of the 19th century, namely in 1897, when a three-tier tower-bell was built close to its main facade, which, despite the fact that almost five hundred years younger than the rest of the church, quite harmoniously with it combined.
Nevertheless, despite numerous small changes, the church in the village of Usielub preserved its foundation of the 15th century. And the main change in the appearance of the church was the addition to it of the tower-bell. In 1986, a strong fire occurred in the building of the church in the village of Usielub. In 1988 the restoration was started. In 1991, after the completion of restoration works, the church was again consecrated. At the moment the church in the village of Usielub is in good condition. However, in our time, work is regularly carried out to maintain the temple in the proper form. The church in the village of Usielub not striking in its size and architecture, tourists can be interesting because of its age.
Next to the church there is another small attraction of the village of Usielub, namely, plebania, i.e. the house of the priest and the parish administration, built in the early 20th century. This building, though rather young, is nevertheless quite sweet and noteworthy. It is preserved quite well, and this building still plays the role of plebania.
Next to the church in the village of Usielub there is another religious building, which is also undoubtedly an interesting attraction of these places. It is a chapel-tomb, built in the village of Usielub in 1837. Thus, this chapel, the church itself and the plebania form a very remarkable architectural ensemble. Although historically the chapel belonged more to the extensive manor complex, which once was located in the village of Usielub.
In addition to the well-preserved chapel, only the ruins of several outbuildings, the foundation of a recently burnt house and fragments of the park, have survived from this manor complex to our days. These objects no longer represent a serious interest for tourists. However, we note that the park in the village of Usielub is located right on the road between the Catholic church and the Orthodox church, which will be discussed later.
And finally, there is in the village of Usielub and one more important landmark, namely the Orthodox church of St. Michael the Archangel, which was built here in 1840. The church is in a good restored condition. The area around the church is surrounded by a low stone fence, the central entrance is decorated with a belfry, built in 1884 from natural stone. Undoubtedly, the church in the village of Usielub is an important architectural monument of the middle of the 19th century, an interesting sight and historical and cultural value of Belarus.
