Synkavichy - is a village of Zel’va district, Grodno region of Belarus. The main attraction of the village Synkavichy is Orthodox church of St. Michael the Archangel. This church is very unique and important monument of Belarusian architecture. This is one of the oldest temples of the defensive type in Belarus. Belarus has remained just a few temples defensive type, so each of them has a special significance for the cultural heritage of the country. Precise data on the date of construction of the church of St. Michael the Archangel in the village Synkavichy not preserved. At the moment, it is assumed that the temple was built in the late XV and the beginning of XVI century. According to some other versions of the temple could be built almost in the XIII century. In any case, this is a very ancient temple and one of the oldest surviving stone building in Belarus. By the way, the very Church of St. Michael the Archangel is a little away from the village Synkavichy.
Since 1960, the temple was used as a granary. At the end of the 20th century returned to believers and partially restored. Exterior restored perfectly and completely.
